This page covers everything you need to know to be a qualified and registered badminton coach in Australia.

Anyone actively coaching badminton in Australia is required to be registered. Registration will ensure that BA has all the necessary details for insurance cover, for support with integrity matters, to confirm appropriate qualifications, learning and continued professional development and to understand the coaching landscape.

Registation will need to renewed each year and the cost is:

Adult – $49.00

Concession – $39*

Under 18 – $29*

*Concession codes are provided in step 2 of the registration process and you will be asked to upload proof e.g. healthcare card, seniors card, student card.

As a registered coach you will be covered under the BA insurance ONLY while coaching at an affiliated venue, club, association, state or national program or event. Insurance does not cover private coaching. You can also access exclusive content, resources and partner discounts.

If you are new to badminton coaching, this PATHWAY OVERVIEW will help you understand where to start and how to progress.

Education is key to protecting the integrity of Australian sport. Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) and Badminton Australia are committed to working together to mitigate and manage integrity threats to provide a safe and fair environment for participants at all levels of sport.

This Education Plan has been developed in partnership with SIA, who will support this plan through the provision of education resources and interventions as and where possible. It outlines the required and recommended education interventions for badminton coaches in Australia to facilitate compliance with the National Integrity Framework policies, Badminton Australia Anti-Doping Policy and the World Anti-Doping Code International Standard for Education (ISE).
