What do Leaders do?

Leaders are vital to the Shuttle Smash program, guiding our Junior and Shuttle Smasher participants through fun, active experiences while sparking a love for physical activity.

Who Makes a Great Shuttle Smash Leader?

Becoming a Shuttle Smash Leader is open to everyone – no badminton experience needed! The role is perfect for those passionate about sports and eager to guide kids through their first badminton experience in a fun, supportive way.

What You’ll Need:

Passion for Sport: A love for physical activity and helping kids develop a passion for it too.

WWCC (Working With Children Check): Ensuring safety and trust for all participants.

Experience Working with Children/Community Groups: Whether you have experience coaching, teaching, or volunteering, your background in working with kids is valuable.

Fun, Positive Attitude: A great leader brings energy, fun, and enthusiasm to every session.

Free Online Training: Learn the basics of badminton and effective coaching techniques through easy-to-follow online training.

Parents can feel confident knowing that all leaders are fully prepared to create a fun, safe, and engaging experience for the kids!

Become a Leader

1.Ensure you have a current WWCC (providers will check this)

2. Complete the FREE online training 

3. Contact your provider, who will receive access to the leader resources (lesson plans, equipment, etc.)

4. Lead a FUN session and inspire the next generation!

Optional but encouraged: We recommend completing Sport Integrity Australia’s ‘Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction‘ course.
