After 2 years the Australian National Championships are back. Australia’s best badminton players will be vying for the title of National Champions and for a spot on the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Team.

Australian Tokyo Olympians Wendy Chen and Gronya Somerville will be vying for selection along with Australia’s best young and upcoming players. Jack Yu, Kaitlyn Ea and Angela Yu will all be ones to watch.

Badminton Australia CEO Jamie Parsons said “It is great to have badminton back, it is an exciting time for Badminton Australia – not only do we have Australia’s best badminton players vying for national champions and Commonwealth Games selection but there are now more than 300,000 badminton players across Australia.”

Parsons said – “Australia is ranked in the top 20 countries in the world and is only a matter of time before we start pushing higher up the rankings over the coming 12 months”.
