Australia has begun their BWF World Junior Championships campaign with a win, beating out Iceland 5-0 on Day 1 of the Mixed Team Championships.
The Australian Team, comprising of Jack Yu (Queensland), Kayson Goh (Victoria), Ricky Tang (NSW), Otto Zhao (Victoria), Sydney Go (Victoria), Yuelin Zhang (Victoria), Catrina Tan (South Australia) and Dania Nugroho (South Australia), were quick to establish their credentials on the court.
Competing in Group B, Australia are still to face off against China, India and Slovenia, and will look to bring their best games to their competition.
Tuesday will see Australia compete against India at 9am local (6pm AEDT) followed by Slovenia at 5pm local (2am AEDT).
The round robin matches will conclude when Australia goes up against China on Wednesday 19 October at 1pm local (10pm AEDT).
Following the completion of the Mixed Teams Event, the Individual Championships will take place from 24 – 30 October in Santander, Spain.
