Expressions of Interest for Australian Badminton Open Equipment & Product Sponsorship (2027-2030)

Badminton Australia (BA) and Australian Badminton League (ABL) are pleased to announce the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Equipment & Product Sponsorship category of the Australian Badminton Open (ABO) for the 2027-2030 BWF World Tour cycle. The opportunity follows the award of hosting rights for the BWF World Tour Super 500 Australian Badminton Open to Australia for the next four-year cycle.

The Australian Badminton Open is Australia’s premier international badminton tournament and one of the leading sporting events in Oceania, attracting world-class athletes including Olympic medallists, World Champions and many of the sport’s highest-ranked players. The tournament will continue as a BWF World Tour Super 500 event from 2027 to 2030.

Under the RFP, the successful sponsor will be appointed as the Official Equipment & Product Partner of the Australian Badminton Open for all four years of the cycle. The sponsorship opportunity includes exclusive rights relating to competition equipment supply, on-site merchandising, branding opportunities, fan engagement activations, hospitality benefits and other promotional rights associated with the event.

BA and ABL are inviting equipment manufacturers, suppliers and sporting goods organisations with the capability to deliver a world-class partnership to submit proposals. Respondents will be assessed on a range of criteria including competition court provision, shuttlecock supply, volunteer uniforms, merchandising and fan activation initiatives, tournament stringing services and cash sponsorship contribution.
