Aussies Defeat Kiwis to Win Pan Pacific Trophy

Australia has retained the Pan Pacific Trophy with an impressive 7-4 victory over New Zealand in Hamilton, NZ overnight.


The singles matches were up first and the Australian girls singles players, Natasha Sharp, Buddhima Fernando and Jennifer Tam all comfortably won their matches in straight games.


The boys however did not have it so easy. All three boys singles went the distance with tough three game matches. Fortunately for the Aussies Sawan Serasinghe, David Ngiam and Daniel Guda all managed to come out on top to give the Aussies an unbeatable 6-0 lead in the tie.


New Zealand managed to fight back claiming four of the five doubles event however it was all to late with the Australians running out winners 7-4.


Congratulations to entire Aussie team. All players will now compete in the NZ Junior International which gets underway today. Follow the results here.
