After a gruelling 12 months of competing in tournaments across the globe Australian's Leanne Choo, Victoria Na, Renuga Veeran, Ross Smith and Glenn Warfe have qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Badminton World Federation released the official qualifying list late last night based on the May 3rd world rankings. Warfe and Smith claimed the Oceania slot in the Men's Doubles, coming in at 33 in the world rankings, while Choo and Veeran also took the Oceania spot for the Women's Doubles with a world ranking of 35. Victoria Na's ranking of 38 was enough to see her qualify in the Women's Singles event.

Warfe and Choo narrowly missed out on Qualifying for the Mixed Doubles also, their world ranking of 53 was just outside the required top 50 position.

While the players have now qualified for London 2012 their qualification must still be accepted by the Australian Olympic Committee. This will occur in the coming weeks.
