Amongst a spectacular backdrop of beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters Renuga Veeran and Ross Smith have taken out the mixed doubles title at the Air Tahiti Nui International Challenge in Papeete.

In their first international tournament together the Aussie duo defeated the second seeded Canadian pair of Derrick Ng/Alex Bruce 23-21 21-14 in the final. In fact the Australian's didn't drop a game on their way to the title, which included a semi final win over compatriots Leanne Choo and Glenn Warfe.

Smith had a chance to claim two titles when he paired up with Warfe in the men's doubles final. However it was not to be with Ng gaining revenge on Smith when he teamed with fellow Canadian Adrian Liu to take the title 21-23 13-21.
