Badminton Australia (BA) wishes to acknowledge and thank the following for their support throughout the year.
Australian Sports Commission (ASC)
TheThe ASC is BA’s major sponsor. It provides funding for three key areas of our sport: 1) High Performance (HP); 2) Talent Identification and Talent Development through the NTID Program and 3) Sports Development including new funding to assist in the CALD space. The HP Programme includes support for the administration and management of programmes, the HP training environment (including coaching, equipment and sports science/sports medicine services) and the competition environment and supporting athlete travel to international competitions. The NTID Programme funding supports the identification and development of new talent through the Jump Smash Program and the development of top current talent.
Sports Development funding programmes support talented juniors and the programmes and pathways to the elite programme. It also assists with the development of coaching systems, court officials training and development programmes as well as supporting membership growth and club development. A new initiative in 2010/11 was the allocation of funding to allow BA to work with States/Regions to take the sport to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities (CALD).
Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA)
The ACGA provides funding for two key areas – Junior Development and High Performance.
The Junior Development funding provides valuable international tournament experience annually for the members of the Australian Commonwealth Games Junior Squad.
From 2007-2010, funding was provided for the Delhi 2010 Preparation Program which supports athlete preparation for the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Australian Olympic Committee (AOC)
